A Little Taste of Central Park

A Little Taste of Central Park

Located in the north-eastern part of the United States, New York is one of the most important and well-known cities in the entire world. As a cultural, economic, entertainment, culinary, and shopping/fashion capital, it makes it an ideal place to host an event in one of the many New York conference rooms.

Since the city is so large and offers visitors and locals alike so much to do to keep their minds engaged between meetings, it makes sense to book events and meetings in the most populous city in the States. One of the benefits of being in New York City is the close proximity of Central Park. Between meetings, you can be entertained by some of the talent that pops by, wander the network of nature paths, or check out the art the park has to offer.

Entertainment — If you happen to find yourself needing a break from your New York conference rooms and want to step out to the park to get a breath of fresh air, you will be walking into a world of entertainment opportunities. During the summer months there are a variety of concerts produced in the park, with even some mega stars taking to the stage. Or, you could happen by to hear the music of the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, and the Good Morning America concerts that take place on Friday mornings. If you prefer a little drama, you can pop by to see the Public Theater’s open-air productions, or the Delacorte Theater’s mostly Shakespearean productions taking place at various locations.

Entertaining yourself — If you have had enough of mingling with crowd and business associates and just want to escape from your New York conference rooms for a bit, then Central Park is a perfect place to do so. Here you can bird watch, stroll along the many paths, rent a rowboat and go out on the water, or even go to the zoo. Pick up some lunch at one of the many vendors or pack your own, before heading out to a relatively secluded spot to enjoy some of the peace and quiet you wouldn’t think you’d be able to find in the middle of America’s largest city.

Art — While there are a number of fabulous museums and art galleries that dot the city of New York, conference rooms aren’t often the places that boast such works. If you have a bit of time, but not enough to visit a large museum, why not head over to Central Park to see some of the works of art they have displayed across the area? There are a total of 29 sculptures in the park, by top names such as Stebbins and Saint-Gaudens. Be sure to see the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ sculpture and check out ‘Cleopatra’s Needle’ – which is one of three such obelisks, with the others located in London and Paris.
